Screen Is Displaying Only White

The LCD screen is only showing a white screen. MODEP web ui is working. I ran "/usr/bin/python3 /home/patch/pi-stomp/modalapistomp.py --log debug" and the screen started working. When I stopped that it went back to white.

Yes, modalapistomp.py needs to be running for pi-stomp to work and for the LCD to display anything.   Running the command that you ran there is one way to run it, but as you noticed, the display will go blank when you stop it.

The better way to run modalapistomp.py is via the mod-ala-pi-stomp service.  It runs the python script on boot and restarts it if needed.  mod-ala-pi-stomp should be enabled when you first install.  But if it got disabled, just execute:
sudo systemctl enable mod-ala-pi-stomp
ps-restart

That should make sure it runs all the time.

Make sure you don't run modalapistomp.py AND the mod-ala-pi-stomp service at the same time as both processes will be trying to control the LCD - not good.  So if you need to debug, run:
ps-stop   (that stops the mod-ala-pi-stomp service)
ps-run -l debug   (that runs the script directly)

Then when you're done debugging, run:
ps-restart

I tried to enable mod-ala-pi-stomp and I'm getting this:

Failed to enable unit: Unit file mod-ala-pi-stomp.service does not exist.

Also, when I try to run ps-run -l debug or ps-restart, etc...I'm getting:

-bash: ps-run: command not found

mod-ala-pi-stomp.service  should it exist in this directory:
/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants

If not, either it got deleted or your install wasn't fully successful.

The fact that the ps-run alias doesn't exist also suggests that your install didn't complete.

The aliases and services are the last things done by the setup.sh script.  I'd recommend looking at that script and working backwards to see where the install stopped.

Check to see if pedalboards were installed.  'ls /var/modep/pedalboards' should show 16 or so pedalboards.

'ls /usr/modep/lv2' should include the plugins prefixed with "gx_"

You could just rerun the setup.sh script.  Or if you don't want to do the time consuming first steps, you could run just the steps after the point where it appears to have failed.

I'm getting audio when green bypass is off. But nothing when it's on.

Well that's no good.  It's at least a good sign that audio passes when bypassed - means your jacks and relay are working.

I tried the troubleshooting guide but still no go. I remember when running the setup script, I saw a message that said: The remote end hung up unexpectedly. I can't remember what it was for. Could this be a software issue?

I suppose that may have prevented a package from downloading, but setup.sh did complete, right?

So does the MOD UI work?  If not, the problem is likely with modep-mod-ui, modep-mod-host or jack.  If the UI does work, change the pedalboard to "SEQUENCED_DRUMS" and see if you hear a drum loop.  If so, at least your audio output works.  If not, audio is likely either muted, (run: amixer set -c 0 'Output Mixer HiFi' on), or maybe your wires from the audio card output aren't connected properly.  Check that 'L' goes to 'L' and 'R' goes to 'R'.
