Navigating pedalboards
« on: September 11, 2021, 04:39:55 PM »
Hi,
Since I have now a few pedalboards I fins it somtimes frustrating that I have to sift through all the available pedalboards to get to the one I want.
Wouldn't it make sense to display only present in the current bank ?
At this point, the banks seem to be an unused feature.

What do you think ?

I agree it's a pain to have to scroll between pedalboards that you don't care about.  There's no reason you can't delete those.

I agree banks might be able to help with that.  True, banks aren't dealt with at all by pi-Stomp.  It would add yet another level of context hierarchy and frankly, there's just not room on the LCD.  I suppose we could add a "current bank" selection on another page.  The MOD Dwarf, basically does it that way.  I do have some concern that someone will change their bank inadvertently or forget that they changed it, then wonder why they can't see their other pedalboards.  Yesterday, I added a "toolbar" at the top of the LCD (for bypass and wifi status and system settings).  Could add another "tool" for changing the bank there.

I agree that it adds another layer of complexity, however, the possibility to organize pedalboards in banks is really useful.
The only workaround I've found is to name the pedalboards in groups, A- pedalboards, B- pedalboards and so on.
It's not perfect but i'll do for now.

Keep up the good work !
