Problem using webinterface on minimal build pistomp...
« on: November 30, 2023, 01:13:03 AM »
Hi, I wanted to try out the software and the audio quality, and explore the possibilities designing pedalboards etc... so I thought I try to put together a minimal setup using only a PI 3 A+ and an IQaudio codec Zero audiohat, to use as an evaluation setup. I then followed the installation procedure for pi-stomp and everything went smothly, until I tried to use the webinterface... using my webrowser (brave or safari...) I could not login at pistomp.local/, but I have no problem using Terminal on my mac to connect via SSH. In terminal I then listed the services that did not startup, and there seems to be only one and it's "dnsmasq". I tried to restart dnsmasq, but no luck...

What could it be causing dnsmasq not to start? Someone have a clue... ?

and ...

Is it even possible to use the pistomp software with my minimal setup, or could that be the problem, that my build is missing all the add-ons (lcd screen, etc. etc.) that you use with a full build of the pedal?

 kindly / Mattias

it looks like its there and responding when trying to connect to "pistomp.local/" through a web-browser, but for some reason it actively rejects connection... any ideas why?

Tried installing Patchbox and Modep, got it up and running with functional web-interface within 30 minutes... weird!

... sad thing, patchbox doesn't like my audiohat.

If you have ssh connectivity but not browser, then I might suspect browser settings, dhcp, etc.  But since you have ssh access, might try figuring out the IP address using either:

Code: [Select]
ping pistomp.local
Or

Code: [Select]
ifconfig    (inet for wlan0 is what you want)

Then enter that IP address (eg. 10.0.0.214) to your browser URL bar.

To toggle hotspot mode from the command line:
Code: [Select]
sudo systemctl enable wifi-hotspot;  sudo systemctl start wifi-hotspot
The default password is: pistompwifi

To switch back:
Code: [Select]
sudo systemctl stop wifi-hotspot;  sudo systemctl disable wifi-hotspot
