Building pi-Stomp / pi-Stomp Input Stage Question
Last post by KAOSS - September 22, 2024, 10:28:14 PM
Hello!

I just had a question about the input stage of the Pi-Stomp. I believe the pi-Stomp board has a buffer circuitry for the guitar input before it goes into the IQaudio Codec Zero. Is there any way I can get more details on that? I?m trying to do something similar and was wondering how a buffer circuitry should be implemented.

Thanks.

There are various ways of developing LV2 plugins.  Here's a thread with some good pointers:

I don't know of any MAX LV2 plugin, but you could certainly run MAX on pi-Stomp and patch in the audio to Jack.

What methods exist to program new pedals? Can one use puredata or maxMSP?

Hi, I attempted to update my pistomp away from matchbox and used the new installer. When I got to the point where I logged in and started pushing the terminal commands, I got an error the first time I ran the command to retrieve the software from the server, it seemed to error correct on the second attempt. I used the install instructions for the audioinjector sound card to non working results. I was wondering if the install files may be corrupt on the hosting side?

Thanks!

The manufacturer's reply just reconfirmed that they don't support Linux, but Alsa does see both inputs and outputs. Time to play with it some more.

If you haven't already, try running:

aplay -l

and

arecord -l

To see if Alsa is seeing any audio interfaces

Just plugging it in to an RPi, I saw two new devices - dmmidi2 and midi2 - appear in the /dev folder. I did have to install a specific driver to use it on Windows, but I don't see that they offer one for Mac. So it seems that the midi portion might be code-compliant but the audio might not. I will have to reach out to the manufacturer.

That would be cool.  It does seem concerning that they don't mention Linux.  If it did work with Linux, you'd think they want to tout that.  Possibly, they just don't want to officially support it.

If it's "class compliant", then theoretically, ALSA will "just work" with it.  Here's a maybe not completely up-to-date list:
