I am building (with Randals guidance) v2 of the acoustic variant.
It will be super simple. the hard part is the case selection and design.

So far I have the following feedback:
TS :
Input volume bypassed is much higher than output with effect on. I would normally use a TS as boost, this makes that difficult.

Darkstar: Holy crap. its dirty nice. No complaints yet.
Perhaps a low drive model.

Variac Plexi (if you do: max out all the nobs first, use the variac to lower the volume)

Before I found Pistomp, I made my own Patchbox variant and was impressed.

Once I got hold of a Pistomp, I am blown away. It takes the Blokas.io idea to a "real" level for a guitarist. Assembly is pretty simple, if you have ever DIY any pedal before. I compare the sounds I am getting out of this to my Line 6 HD500 and Floor Pod.

Pros:
- If you have done any DIY pedals before, this is a breeze.
- Its very well made and well documented.
- Crazy levels of customizable.


Cons:
- You have to resist the desire to use ALL of its button and potentiometer connectors.
- You will want to make more than 1
- You will never be satisfied and want to tweak more than just a nob.

I think using the Pistomp for that ALONE is like using a Tesla Car as a couch.

I do believe if you run the Pistomp mono, you can use 1 input and 1 output as an effect loop.

if you end up spending a lot on additional parts. I think the Pistomp core would just be a better way to go, and mount all the switches and nobs the way you prefer. It really depends on the overall cost.

The benefit from a noob (like me) to use the Pistomp core board is HUGE. I can just add whatever types of potentiometers, buttons, nobs that I want and there practically automatically functioning.  Plus the Pistomp core already has a navigation rotary nob with a center push button.. that alone is enough to navigate.

The wattage depends on how loud you want to get it. My current vibration speakers are 3w

I have got them loud enough to hear the magnets hit the base. So 4w would be better if your going to get it really loud. -- Although, I was able to negate this by reducing bass response with an EQ.

When you say "table" i imagine you mean the acoustic guitar face?

I am not an engineer or electrician, so most of my work was guessing.
I imagine powering it through the gpio would have been a better idea, and now in hindsight, the stereo amp is overkill. I think 1 mono speaker and amp are enough. But, this was an experiment; and I did learn that the best speaker mount is on the back/inside of the body.

I would not suggest a piezo, as it would be more likely to feedback. I used a clip on mag, mounted semi-permanently.

The noticeable lag works perfcitky fine as I am adding effects only. This is similar to the pre-delay most effects offer :-)

Hi there, my name is Chris. I made one of these using a pi 0W and put it into my acoustic guitar. I’d like to send you some pictures to show you how I did it.

My acoustic did not use the tree fall sound core. I only used a audio injector zero sound card and a pie zero w, a 5 3.5 watt stereo amp and 2 x5 watt vibration speakers (contact speakers).

Initially I used a pi3, but using 6 AA batteries; it only lasted around 8 mins! (It also melted my battery tray) Switching to the pie zero w resulted in a more “typical” feeling battery usage. (Around an hour a day, for 1-2 weeks)

Drawbacks to using a pie zero w:
Boot takes around 60 seconds.
More latency

But overall I like it.
I can post more details shortly, also I want to swap in a sound card with a built in amp (mino)
